Summer, Preschool and Construction

We spent the Summer going to various parks before naptime, coming home to nap and then heading back out to parks or indoor playrooms or local Seattle attractions -- hey we have the membership passes, might as well use them.


As many of you know, we have started some construction on our house. (Do you like how I pretend a ton of people read this blog?!) The idea is to tear up the backyard, aka our basketball-court-parking-for-5 slab. Next, we will put in a 2-car garage, which, due to the sloping of the backyard, will sit nicely on top of a storage shed. Then, a deck will come off the back of the house, replacing the rickety structure that exists now. Lastly, we will fence the whole thing in, plant some grass, toss in a few play-things and voila, a backyard for the kids to enjoy while we sit on the deck, drink beer and play video poker. What, you don't think it will be legal again by the time we are done?

When that is all done, we are going to tear off the roof, build up to a new master bedroom, and let all the kids have their own rooms.

In the mean time, Terry will be back in classes getting his Web Development certificate,  doing Web work for our preschool co-op, and also handling side jobs as they present themselves.

I'll be micromanaging my Google calendar to make sure preschool classes don't step on each other, doing some freelance writing, and secretly playing 'I really should be a preschool teacher' tapes to Terry at night so he will follow his true calling...

All of our kids are in co-op preschool, and have been since very early on. Luckily for me, both our fabulous Teacher Tom, and the fantastic Mom of a classmate of Dennis' are fantastic writers, so I can simply link and save my typing for other things.
